After an afternoon faffing about with Flickr... photo straight from my laptop

Hey managed to upload photos from my laptop of the last 2 Tropical Spicys. I can't stand faffing about in Flicker at all. Now off to finish my day.

A Shakey Start

Well at least I did some baking today. Something creative. All this preparing for winter. I behave as if it's a surprise each year. This is the first where I'm trying not to be leading from my back foot for a change. After freezing yesterday, the first coldish day of the season, I couldn't understand why I was so cold with the central heating on. Then I discovered the new draft proofing that was nailed around the window 2 weeks ago, didn't! So I spent most of today furiously chiselling it of and re-nailing it where it was supposed to be.

The flat's in a mess, don't know why, just can't seem to get it clean up. Anyhow tonight I cooked some cakes based on Ginger Millies from Harry Eastwood's Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache. I can't decide what to call them. I think either Spicy Millies or Tropical Millies. Whatever, they are really low GI, no fat, low sugar, and added fibre. A cake that's good for you to eat. My own recipe and scrumptious.

Recipe
Beat 1 egg with 25gs caster sugar.
Add 100gms grated butternut squash, 1/4 teaspoon of each of the following, lemon essence, orange essence butter essence.
Mix in 25gms rice flour, 50gms ground almonds, 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and mixed spice.
2/3 fill six small muffin cases.  Cut a 2cms slice of banana, divide into 4 quarters and place on top of each muffin mixture. Divide remaining muffin mixture between 6 muffins covering banana.
Bake 160C for 20 mins.

I'm going to have to figure out how to up load photo's to this. I've got a decent camera in my phone. May as well use it. Oh, well I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.
