I'm Waisting My Time

I've just spent ages trying, unsuccessfully to load images straight from my phone. It's just not working. It's a reasonably standard iconic Sony, but it's sooooo complicated. And if I can't post images from my camera phone reasonably easily or quickly, why blog? This is suppossed to be a relatively concurrent experience of real life isn't it. Bloody not the way I'm going.

Anyhow I've just cooked my 2nd cake this week. My first Hummingbird Cake, yes gluten-free and fat free. Need to amend the recipe, you just can't taste the pineapple, But I do have a photo, and very nice it is too. A project to be invested in.

I'm going to have to consider a new phone, one of those android thingies. Meanwhile, I'm going to have to figure out what's going on with my laptop. Even Avast has suspected there's suspicious activity going on. Sometimes I don't feel I'm being the techno wiz I sometimes feel I am, or am I only able to work with new and shiny toys. Hmm may be some truth in that

A Shakey Start

Well at least I did some baking today. Something creative. All this preparing for winter. I behave as if it's a surprise each year. This is the first where I'm trying not to be leading from my back foot for a change. After freezing yesterday, the first coldish day of the season, I couldn't understand why I was so cold with the central heating on. Then I discovered the new draft proofing that was nailed around the window 2 weeks ago, didn't! So I spent most of today furiously chiselling it of and re-nailing it where it was supposed to be.

The flat's in a mess, don't know why, just can't seem to get it clean up. Anyhow tonight I cooked some cakes based on Ginger Millies from Harry Eastwood's Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache. I can't decide what to call them. I think either Spicy Millies or Tropical Millies. Whatever, they are really low GI, no fat, low sugar, and added fibre. A cake that's good for you to eat. My own recipe and scrumptious.

Recipe
Beat 1 egg with 25gs caster sugar.
Add 100gms grated butternut squash, 1/4 teaspoon of each of the following, lemon essence, orange essence butter essence.
Mix in 25gms rice flour, 50gms ground almonds, 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and mixed spice.
2/3 fill six small muffin cases.  Cut a 2cms slice of banana, divide into 4 quarters and place on top of each muffin mixture. Divide remaining muffin mixture between 6 muffins covering banana.
Bake 160C for 20 mins.

I'm going to have to figure out how to up load photo's to this. I've got a decent camera in my phone. May as well use it. Oh, well I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.
